The first Jane Lloyd Fund New England Clambake was held two years ago. The day was perfect! Good food and music in one great place at the bottom of Satre Hill, home of SWSA. A huge success again last year, we would like to thank the Sponsors, all of those who volunteered their time, sent donations and all of you who could attend. You have helped us continue our goal to help the victims of cancer and their families with some of the day to day financial needs.

ABOUT THE JANE LLOYD FUND

On September 14th, 2005 Jane Knowlton Lloyd died peacefully at her home in Lime Rock, Connecticut. Fortunately Jane was blessed with many generous friends who enabled her to live her last days in the peaceful, loving environment of her home with her family and friends by her side. In her last two years living with cancer, Jane was unable to work full time, and the stress of meeting her financial obligations weighed heavily upon her. A large group of generous friends assumed Jane’s day-to-day expenses, enabling her to live her final days at home.

The Jane Lloyd Fund was born after her death to help families in the Region One area of the Northwest Corner of Connecticut, who, because of the effects of cancer and its treatment, cannot meet their day - to - day financial obligations. The Jane Lloyd Fund has accumulated enough funds through contributions from the generosity of the community of the Region One and beyond to be able to help several families in its first year. As an endowed fund within The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, The Jane Lloyd Fund will help families maintain a supportive environment at home for cancer patients for many generations to come.

Disbursements from the fund are made upon the written recommendation of a social service agent, town social worker, hospice care provider, visiting nurse, counselor or pastor. These funds must be used for day to day expenses such as mortgage, rent, insurance, utilities, heating oil, car payments and transportation to and from doctor appointments or cancer treatment appointments.

To make a tax deductible contribution to this unique and important fund please make checks payable to:
